OOO # THE MOSS

Some homes are designed to impress.

This one was designed to be lived in.

As the first home of a Japanese-Singaporean couple, the brief was never about following trends. It was about creating a space with depth, character and longevity—one that would quietly evolve alongside their everyday rituals.

Inspired by the quiet resilience of moss, the home embraces a palette of deep olive green, warm walnut and natural stone. Rather than relying on a single material, layers of textured tiles, stone, mirror finishes and carefully selected surfaces introduce richness and contrast throughout the space.

Every material was chosen not only for its beauty, but for how it would age with time.

Both homeowners share a love for mid-century design, specialty coffee, wine, and the simple pleasure of staying in. Working from home is part of their daily rhythm, so every corner was considered to support both productivity and moments of pause.

Bold colours were introduced with intention—not as statements, but as anchors that give the home its identity. The green becomes a quiet backdrop for light, timber and everyday living, allowing the space to feel calm yet unmistakably personal.

Like moss, the home does not demand attention. It rewards those who slow down enough to notice it.
